Flix Integrates AI for Customer Travel Planning and Internal Operations
Travel company Flix has launched a ChatGPT-based app for natural language travel search and comparison, marking its entry into conversational AI for customers. Internally, the company has expanded access to AI tools for its entire workforce.

Flix, the global travel company, has expanded its use of artificial intelligence by launching a customer-facing application within ChatGPT and by providing AI tools to its workforce. The ChatGPT app, released on June 10, 2026, allows users to search, compare, and plan FlixBus and FlixTrain journeys using conversational commands.
This move into conversational AI serves as a new distribution channel for Flix, complementing traditional booking methods. The app is accessible globally through ChatGPT's Apps section and supports all languages offered by Flix. It directs users to local booking sites for FlixBus and FlixTrain services across Europe, North America, Türkiye, South America, and the Asia-Pacific region.
Internally, Flix hosted its first large-scale AI Day in May 2026, involving approximately 900 employees from 35 countries. This event focused on hands-on workshops and sessions, resulting in the development of over 70 internal prototypes aimed at improving processes, automation, and productivity.
Flix has since made AI tools, including Claude Cowork, available to all office-based employees, aiming to foster an AI-fluent company culture. AI and machine learning are already integral to Flix's operations, supporting network planning, demand forecasting, customer service, and operational management across its extensive network of over 8,700 destinations in 45 countries.
