Travel technology company Flix SE reported achieving EUR 2 billion in total revenue for 2023, a 30% increase compared to the previous year. The company's services, including FlixBus, FlixTrain, and Greyhound, served over 81 million passengers, representing a 34% rise in travel volume.
Flix also posted an Adjusted EBITDA of EUR 104 million, a significant improvement from EUR 7 million in 2022. This financial performance, according to the company, validates its strategy for profitable growth and market expansion.
The company experienced strong operational and financial performance across its segments. In Europe, total revenue grew by 46% to EUR 1.19 billion, driven by a 41% increase in passenger numbers. North America saw a 36% rise in passenger volume and an 11% revenue increase to EUR 615 million, aided by the full integration of Greyhound onto the Flix booking platform.
Flix continued its global expansion in 2023 by launching operations in Finland and Greece, and expanding into Chile. Further market entries in India occurred in early 2024. These strategic moves aim to solidify Flix's position as a global provider of affordable and sustainable travel.
