FlixTrain Announces Network Expansion and Increased Departures for 2027
FlixTrain has announced its network plans for the 2027 timetable, which the company states represents its best network to date. The service will see a 20% increase in weekly departures and a doubling of capacity.

FlixTrain has unveiled its network plans for the 2027 timetable, which the company claims will be its most extensive to date. These new schedules, effective from December 13, will introduce a 20% increase in weekly departures and double the overall train capacity.
The Hamburg to Berlin route will see an increase to up to 20 daily departures, with hourly services during peak times. Travel time on this route will be reduced to 1 hour and 50 minutes, positioning FlixTrain as a faster option than Deutsche Bahn's ICE trains on this connection.
Additionally, FlixTrain is introducing its "FlixTrain COMFORT" service, offering first-class equivalent legroom, Wi-Fi, and guaranteed seating at no extra charge. These new, air-conditioned trains have already been deployed on the Hamburg-Cologne route, with further expansion planned.
FlixTrain aims to expand sustainable rail travel options. As part of the Flix group, which operates bus services in over 40 countries, the company is committed to science-based emissions reduction targets.
