Florida luxury optical retailer acquired by private investors
A long-standing luxury optical retailer on Florida's Central Gulf Coast has been sold to a local couple in a deal including the company's real estate.
A retail business specializing in luxury eyewear has changed ownership after more than three decades of operation. The transaction, facilitated by Viking Mergers & Acquisitions, includes both the optical retail business and the underlying property located on the Florida Gulf Coast.
The previous owner, an optician with over 30 years of industry experience, is stepping away from the business to focus on personal interests. The new owners, both University of Florida alumni, intend to maintain the current service model, which features a curated selection of roughly 20 luxury brands and in-house optician services.
Market experts noted that the inclusion of real estate in the acquisition provides long-term stability for the retail operation. The store serves a consistent customer base of local residents and seasonal tourists.
