Florida Psychiatrist Proposes Framework to Measure Human Energy

Dr. Fenton G. LeBon, a psychiatrist based in Jupiter, Florida, has introduced the Human Energy Center, a proposed clinical discipline designed to standardize the evaluation of human energy levels. LeBon argues that while modern medicine monitors metrics like blood pressure and glucose, it lacks a systematic framework for assessing fatigue, which he characterizes as a measurable system output.

The proposed framework evaluates energy across six physiological domains: production, delivery, regulation, consumption, recovery, and nervous system governance. Central to this approach is the premise that biological factors causing energy depletion must be identified and resolved before therapeutic interventions can effectively increase energy levels.

LeBon's model integrates research on NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide), a coenzyme linked to cellular metabolism that is known to decline with age. While the underlying science regarding NAD+ is documented in molecular biology literature, the comprehensive clinical framework proposed by the Human Energy Center has not yet been evaluated through peer-reviewed clinical trials.

LeBon aims to position energy management as a distinct medical discipline, suggesting it represents an evolution in patient care similar to the development of specialized fields like cardiology.
