FocalPoint and STMicroelectronics Agree to Enhance GNSS Reliability

UK-based GNSS software firm FocalPoint and semiconductor manufacturer STMicroelectronics have signed a commercial agreement to enhance the accuracy of satellite positioning within the automotive sector. The agreement aims to deliver more reliable satellite positioning in challenging environments, such as urban canyons and wooded roads, where traditional GNSS systems often struggle.

The collaboration has resulted in an integrated solution combining FocalPoint's S-GNSS® Auto software with STMicroelectronics' Teseo hardware. This solution is available as a firmware update, enabling automotive manufacturers and Tier 1 suppliers to improve the precision of Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS) and vehicle-to-everything (V2X) communication cost-effectively.

FocalPoint's proprietary Supercorrelation® technology enhances signal quality and accuracy under difficult conditions. Extensive global tests have shown that S-GNSS® Auto on Teseo devices consistently outperforms standard commercial solutions. This agreement deepens the companies' prior collaboration, which began in May 2025.

FocalPoint CEO Scott Pomerantz stated that the agreement elevates the collaboration to a new level and addresses the needs of automotive manufacturers to improve ADAS reliability. Luca Celant from STMicroelectronics emphasized that the solution provides a competitive edge and enables sub-meter accuracy even in the most demanding environments.
