FocalPoint and STMicroelectronics finalize commercial deal for reliable automotive GNSS
FocalPoint and STMicroelectronics have entered into a commercial agreement to enhance the reliability of satellite navigation systems in challenging automotive environments.

UK-based GNSS software developer FocalPoint has finalized a commercial agreement with semiconductor manufacturer STMicroelectronics. The deal aims to bolster the reliability of vehicle positioning, particularly in difficult satellite navigation environments.
The solution integrates FocalPoint's S-GNSS® Auto software with STMicroelectronics' Teseo hardware. This combination is designed to improve positioning accuracy in 'urban canyons,' along tree-lined roads, and other challenging locations where traditional GNSS systems struggle. The improved accuracy can be achieved through a simple firmware update, making implementation easier and more cost-effective for the automotive industry.
FocalPoint's patented Supercorrelation® technology assists the software in enhancing accuracy during signal interference. Testing has shown that the integrated software and Teseo hardware combination significantly outperformed standard commercial solutions. The solution is slated for broad deployment across current and next-generation vehicle platforms.
The collaboration seeks to increase the safety of autonomous vehicles and improve overall navigation reliability. Both companies are now offering evaluation kits of their solution to automotive industry partners.
