Wyk, on the island of Föhr, is currently constructing 46 new apartments intended for permanent residents. The four-building project located on Kortdeelsweg represents an investment of around 12 million euros, with the town of Wyk contributing over 4.5 million euros.
The project is expected to be completed in just over a year, with the first tenants anticipated to move in next year. According to Wyk's mayor, Uli Hess (CDU), the apartments are primarily aimed at professionals working on the island, such as emergency medical technicians.
This development is part of broader efforts to address housing needs in the North Sea island region. Further construction projects are planned for the neighboring islands of Amrum and in surrounding municipalities, aiming to meet demand and support local communities.
