Foley Family Wines & Spirits Launches Gran Nota Triple Oak Reposado Tequila

Santa Rosa, Calif. – Foley Family Wines & Spirits (FFWS) has launched Gran Nota Triple Oak Reposado, an ultra-premium tequila developed through a collaboration between renowned whiskey distiller Chip Tate and the Bañuelos family. The product aims to merge decades of whiskey-making experience with the traditional craft of tequila production.

Produced at Hacienda El Mexicano in Jalisco, Mexico, Gran Nota uses 100% mature Blue Weber agave, slow-cooked for three days in traditional brick ovens using atmospheric steam. This method is intended to develop rich, caramelized agave notes while retaining natural sweetness, differentiating it from spirits cooked under pressure in autoclaves.

The fermentation process employs a proprietary malt whiskey yeast, typically used in Scotch-style whiskies, a departure from conventional tequila methods. This yeast contributes weight, texture, and fruit notes, creating a fuller-bodied spirit with enhanced aromatic complexity.

The reposado tequila undergoes a "Triple Oak" maturation program, resting for five to fourteen months in a combination of new American oak, new European oak, and ex-whiskey barrels. This aging process is designed to balance oak integration and preserve the spirit's agave character. Gran Nota Triple Oak Reposado is available nationwide and online with a suggested retail price of $55.
