Ford and Geely to Jointly Produce Vehicles in Spain

Ford Motor Company and Geely Automobile Holdings have announced an agreement to establish a Europe-focused joint venture utilizing Ford's manufacturing facility in Valencia, Spain.

The new entity will produce Ford and Geely multi-energy passenger vehicles, aiming to leverage the plant's capacity, reduce manufacturing costs, and compete at emerging industry cost benchmarks. The collaboration is intended to address the competitive landscape in Europe, including intense competition and regulatory pressures.

Production at the Valencia plant is slated to begin in 2028, with plans to manufacture an all-new multi-energy crossover for Ford, a new member of the Bronco family, and two all-electric SUVs for Geely. Production of the Ford Kuga will continue without interruption.

Pending regulatory approvals, the joint venture is expected to begin operations in the first half of 2027. Under the proposed ownership structure, Ford will hold 66% of the new company, with Geely Auto holding the remaining 34%. The Valencia facility, established in 1976, will be transformed into a shared, high-tech manufacturing hub.
