Ford tests new Hypercar racer for Le Mans
Ford conducted its first track test of a new Hypercar-class race car aimed at competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Development work began at the Paul Ricard circuit in France.

Ford this week conducted the first track test of its new Hypercar-class race car, intended to compete for overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Images of the as-yet-unnamed car were released as drivers Matt Campbell and Logan Sargeant began the process of developing its speed and reliability at the Paul Ricard circuit in Provence, France.
The manufacturer is aiming to secure its first overall win at the historic endurance race since 1969. Ford has four overall Le Mans victories in its history, though subsequent attempts in top-tier racing have not yielded similar success.
The rising popularity of the Hypercar category in the World Endurance Championship and at Le Mans has prompted Ford's return to the fastest class. The company previously achieved a class victory in the GTE-Pro category in 2016.
Further testing and development are planned as Ford prepares for its challenge in the upcoming Hypercar competition.
