Foremay Ships PCIe SSDs with Up to 12 TB Capacity
Foremay, Inc. has announced the volume production of its EC188 D-series PCIe SSD drives, offering up to 12 terabytes of storage and read speeds of 4.0 GB/s.

Pasadena, California โ January 20, 2011 โ Foremay, Inc. has begun volume production of its EC188 D-series PCI Express (PCIe) solid state drives (SSDs). These drives are designed for servers and workstations requiring high-speed data access and offer capacities up to 12 terabytes.
The EC188 D-series SSDs utilize standard PCIe slots (x4, x8, or x16) and deliver read speeds of up to 4.0 gigabytes per second and write speeds of 3.8 gigabytes per second. The drives also boast high IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second) performance, reaching up to 250,000 for both read and write operations.
"EC188 D-series PCIe solid state drives are bootable SSD solutions with no external power requirement," said Jason Hoover, Foremay's VP Marketing. "The D-series PCIe SSD supports various server and workstation operating systems including Windows, Macintosh, Linux and selected Unix systems."
Potential applications for these high-capacity PCIe SSDs include cloud computing servers, database storage, mobile content systems, high-performance banking and stock exchange systems, and demanding I/O environments such as mail servers, e-commerce platforms, and video streaming services. They are also suited for high-definition video production, scientific research, and medical imaging.
Foremay, Inc., founded in 2002, specializes in developing high-reliability solid state drives for mission-critical and enterprise computing environments. The company aims to provide high-performance storage solutions with an emphasis on reliability and efficiency.
