Former Dyson India Head Secures Funding for New Appliance Venture

Ankit Jain, formerly the Managing Director of Dyson India, has secured ₹12 crore (approximately $1.4 million) in seed funding for his new consumer appliance startup, Foundry. The funding round was led by BEENEXT and Kettleborough VC, with participation from notable angel investors.

Foundry aims to develop and launch a range of premium kitchen appliances, with its first products slated for release in the second half of 2027. The newly acquired capital will be allocated towards technology development and product engineering.

Jain, an ISB alumnus with prior experience at Nestlé and Walmart, joined Dyson in 2017 and was appointed MD of Dyson India in 2021. He also oversaw Dyson's Middle East and Africa operations before departing the company in February this year.

The startup enters a competitive Indian home appliance market, which includes established players like Havells and Usha, as well as emerging brands focused on innovation. The market is projected to grow substantially, driven by increasing disposable incomes and the adoption of smart home technology.
