Former Hummingbird investor plans new venture capital firm
Haya Hanna, who departed Belgian firm Hummingbird Ventures earlier this year, is reportedly in early stages of raising a new fund.

Haya Hanna, a former investor at Antwerp-based Hummingbird Ventures, is in the process of setting up her own venture capital firm, according to industry sources. Reports suggest she is currently targeting a fund size of approximately €40 million, though these plans remain subject to change.
Hanna’s move follows her departure from Hummingbird Ventures earlier this year. The firm has historically gained recognition for its early-stage backing of notable European technology companies, including Deliveroo and the fintech firm Revolut.
The development comes amid a broader trend in the European venture capital market, where former partners and associates at established firms are increasingly spinning out to launch independent funds. Recent examples include the launch of EverTrue Capital, where former LocalGlobe partner Yvonne Bajela successfully closed a $17 million debut fund.
