New Jersey's former Lieutenant Governor Dale Caldwell resigned on September 25 following an investigation that concluded he sexually harassed a staffer and repeatedly violated ethics rules.
Caldwell has been seeking to clear his name in public appearances, employing an unusual defense during an interview on NJ PBS. He told host Rob Nelson that he had "AI-ed" the investigation report using multiple artificial intelligence platforms.
"I put it through AI, and it said 59 times, 'What would your findings be?'" Caldwell stated, suggesting the AI found no evidence against him. He did not elaborate on the specific AI tools used or the nature of their findings beyond the repeated statement.
The investigation that led to his resignation centered on allegations of sexual misconduct and ethical breaches during his tenure. The resignation was officially confirmed on September 25.
