Former Rippling Cofounder Raises $15 Mn for AI Startup Vorflux

Prasanna Sankar, a former cofounder of workforce management software giant Rippling, has launched a new enterprise AI software engineering startup named Vorflux. The San Francisco-based company raised $15 million in seed funding from Peak XV Partners, Y Combinator, Powerset, and Alliance.

The funding round also saw participation from angel investors, including Rippling cofounder Parker Conrad and Mercury CEO Immad Akhund. This launch follows weeks after Sankar wound down his previous Web3 startup, 0xPPL.

Vorflux is developing an AI platform designed to automate the entire software development lifecycle, from planning to code review, utilizing specialized AI agents rather than solely relying on coding assistants. Sankar explained that code generation itself is no longer the biggest challenge, but rather the reliable testing and deployment of software. Vorflux aims to address this by automating these processes with cloud-based AI agents.

The capital raised will be deployed towards hiring and expanding the startup's go-to-market efforts. Sankar believes software development is shifting towards AI-native workflows, where developers increasingly supervise teams of AI agents instead of manually writing every line of code. This approach aims to reduce reliance on single models and allow for the utilization of various AI models for specific tasks.
