Former Tinder Executive Raises $10 Million for New Dating App Rivet
A former Tinder executive has launched a new dating platform called Rivet, raising $10 million to create a "social matching" experience that involves user recommendations.

Taru Kapoor, a former executive at Tinder and Match Group, has launched a new matchmaking platform named Rivet, securing $10 million in funding. The company aims to introduce a novel approach to online dating by integrating community and human judgment.
Rivet positions itself as a "dating network," blending the community aspects of social media with the familiar swiping mechanics of popular dating apps. The platform's core feature allows users to act as matchmakers, recommending potential partners to others, with the option to also seek matches for themselves.
"As dating becomes more isolating and optimized, I think there is something worth bringing back into the center of it: people and human judgment," Kapoor told Inc. "Real people help each other find meaningful connections and love."
The platform's model enables users to suggest compatible pairs. Once a recommended couple receives a sufficient number of endorsements from other users, the individuals involved can then review the potential match and decide whether to pursue an introduction. Rivet also encourages participation from individuals who are not actively seeking dates themselves, allowing them to act as "Matchers" to help others find connections.
