AIR Control Concepts, headquartered in Norfolk, Virginia, has announced that former Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin has joined the company's Board of Directors. Youngkin's appointment adds significant leadership experience as the company continues its expansion across North America and Europe.
Youngkin previously served as Co-Chief Executive Officer of The Carlyle Group and was the 74th Governor of Virginia from 2022 to 2026. AIR Control Concepts operates as a platform supporting over 45 HVAC, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, and Service businesses, employing more than 3,500 associates.
Brad Hobbs, Chief Executive Officer of AIR Control Concepts, welcomed Youngkin, highlighting their long-standing friendship and previous collaborations. Hobbs noted Youngkin's ability to elevate those around him and his background in building lasting organizations.
As governor, Youngkin oversaw significant economic development in Virginia, with the state recognized by CNBC as "America's Top State for Business" during his term. He holds degrees from Rice University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Youngkin's addition to AIR's board marks his first corporate board seat since leaving public office.
