Energy company Fortum Oyj has updated its global mobile application to provide consumers with more detailed insights into their energy consumption. The new features are designed to help customers better understand their electricity usage and make informed decisions to optimize their consumption.
The app allows users to create a household profile, specifying details such as their appliances and heating system. Based on this information, the app generates personalized estimates of each appliance's electricity consumption and visualizes energy usage. This helps users identify potential savings and reduce their electricity bills.
According to Fortum, the app also provides tips for saving energy and enables users to compare their consumption data with similar households. An electric vehicle smart charging function has been integrated, and smart heating solutions are under development.
The app is currently available in Finland and Sweden, with plans for a launch in Norway soon. Fortum aims to harmonize its development across the Nordics to ensure all customers have access to the same advanced features and to streamline the creation of new solutions.
