Fortum extends operation and maintenance contract with Caverion's Maintpartner in Uusimaa
Fortum has extended its operation and maintenance partnership with Caverion-owned Maintpartner for power and district heating plants and networks in the Uusimaa region of Finland. The renewed contract is for four years.
Fortum will continue its operation and maintenance cooperation with Caverion-owned Maintpartner concerning Fortum’s power and district heating plants and networks in the Uusimaa region of southern Finland. The value of the contract has not been disclosed.
The service has been operated by Maintpartner since 2016. The renewed agreement extends the cooperation for four years. It includes the Suomenoja and Järvenpää combined heat and power (CHP) plants, as well as district heating and cooling networks spanning over a thousand kilometers across the cities of Espoo, Kauniainen, Kirkkonummi, Järvenpää, and Tuusula. District heating and cooling stations and pumping stations are also covered.
Fortum stated that the new agreement will enable a deeper partnership and support the company’s transition towards carbon-neutral district heating in Espoo by 2030, as part of the Espoo Clean Heat project. This transformation necessitates new technologies and working methods.
Caverion, which acquired Maintpartner, views the extended contract as a significant sign of customer confidence and a validation of its strategy to serve industrial customers. The company anticipates that the combined entity will offer enhanced value to both customers and employees.
