Fortum Invests in Fifty Energy to Accelerate Low-Carbon Energy Flexibility
Fortum Innovation & Venturing has invested EUR 1.4 million in Fifty Energy AB, a clean energy technology firm specializing in AI-driven flexibility solutions. The investment aims to enhance low-carbon energy efficiency and grid stability.

Fortum Oyj's venture arm, Fortum Innovation & Venturing, announced on August 20, 2025, a EUR 1.4 million investment in Fifty Energy AB. The Swedish company develops AI-driven software solutions to optimize energy flexibility and consumption.
Fifty Energy's platform utilizes advanced algorithms and real-time data to help balance energy supply and demand, a critical function as the energy sector shifts towards electrification and renewable sources. This technology addresses challenges arising from increased reliance on intermittent power generation and grid digitalization.
The funding will support Fifty Energy's expansion into key European markets and accelerate product development. Fortum views this partnership as a step towards enabling smarter, more resilient, and decarbonized energy systems in the Nordic and European regions.
