Fortum signs new EUR 2.7 billion revolving credit facility
Fortum Oyj has signed a new syndicated revolving credit facility agreement valued at EUR 2.7 billion. The facility will be used for general corporate purposes and replaces a previous credit line of approximately EUR 2.2 billion.

Espoo, Finland – Energy company Fortum Oyj announced on April 16, 2026, that it has signed a new syndicated revolving credit facility agreement totaling EUR 2.7 billion. This new facility replaces an existing credit line of approximately EUR 2.2 billion and is designated for the company's general corporate purposes.
The new credit facility has an initial term of five years, with Fortum holding options to request two one-year extensions. The syndication process was reportedly oversubscribed, with a total of 15 banks participating in the financing.
BNP Paribas, ING, and SEB acted as the coordinators for this facility. Other participating banks included Bank of China, Barclays, Citibank, Crédit Agricole, Danske Bank, Mizuho, Nordea, OP Corporate Bank, SMBC, Société Générale, Swedbank, and Unicredit.
This move underscores Fortum's strategy to maintain robust financial flexibility and ensure adequate access to funding. For large energy companies like Fortum, such credit facilities are crucial for managing capital expenditures, operational costs, and potential market fluctuations.
