Foton Motor Targets One Million Vehicle Sales by 2030
Chinese manufacturer Foton Motor has outlined its "15th Five-Year Plan" strategy, aiming for a total vehicle sales target of one million units by 2030. The company plans for 50% of these sales to be new energy vehicles.
Foton Motor, a Chinese vehicle manufacturer, has announced its strategic goals for 2030, setting a target of selling one million vehicles annually. A significant portion of this sales volume, specifically 500,000 units or 50% of the total, is designated for new energy vehicles.
The company's strategy emphasizes a strong push into electric mobility, supported by its self-developed "Ai-Eco" technology platform for core components like batteries, electric motors, and power electronics. Foton Motor is also focused on increasing its in-house production capabilities for essential parts such as battery packs and electric drive axles.
International expansion is another key pillar of Foton Motor's plan. The company aims to achieve 400,000 vehicle sales internationally by 2030, representing 40% of its total sales. Foton Motor currently holds the position of China's top exporter of commercial vehicles, with its products available in over 140 countries.
Furthermore, Foton Motor is investing in autonomous driving technologies. The company is developing L2-L3 level intelligent driving algorithms for commercial applications, including long-haul logistics and urban delivery. It also aims to achieve commercial implementation of L4 level autonomous driving in controlled environments, such as ports and mining areas, by 2030.
