Fractus and Geotab Settle US Patent Litigation

BARCELONA, Spain -- Fractus, a pioneer in antenna technology and patent licensing, announced on July 27, 2026, that it has settled a patent infringement lawsuit with Geotab. The lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, and the terms of the settlement are confidential.

The agreement marks a significant step for Fractus in the connected fleet and transportation market. It resolves the dispute with Geotab and validates the relevance of Fractus' patented antenna technology for Internet of Things (IoT) applications where reliable wireless performance is essential.

Fractus also noted a growing number of IoT licensees, further solidifying its position within the IoT ecosystem. This growth highlights the increasing value of its technology in areas such as fleet management, cargo visibility, and mobile asset tracking.

Fleet telematics and cargo tracking are rapidly expanding as transportation and logistics companies seek greater visibility, security, and efficiency. According to Berg Insight, the number of fleet management systems in use in North America is projected to grow from 19.2 million units in late 2024 to 33.2 million by 2029. Fractus' patented antennas are designed to provide the compact, high-performance multiband connectivity required by these IoT devices.

"We are very pleased to have reached this settlement with Geotab and to see Fractus technology gain broader recognition in the IoT market," said Jordi Ilario, CEO of Fractus. "Connected wireless technology is transforming areas like fleet management and asset tracking. These recent agreements are an important validation of our innovation and encourage us to continue building constructive licensing relationships."
