Framework offers RAM refunds to some laptop customers
Framework is issuing refunds for RAM on its Laptop 13 Pro model to some customers. The company secured a limited quantity of memory modules at a lower cost amid ongoing component shortages and plans to pass savings on.
Computer manufacturer Framework is providing partial refunds for RAM to select customers purchasing its Laptop 13 Pro. This move comes as the company managed to secure a limited supply of Micron 32GB and 64GB LPCAMM2 memory modules at a reduced cost, a positive development amidst global component shortages.
The company stated its commitment to passing on savings to customers and keeping its products accessible. The price reduction will be applied to both previously shipped orders and a subset of pending pre-orders. These customers will receive automatic refunds or notifications regarding their orders.
Framework noted that while the new costs are lower, they remain above the original pricing set at the laptop's launch. The ongoing scarcity of electronic components has impacted the tech industry, leading to price fluctuations and supply chain challenges for many manufacturers.
