Framework previews mini PC with AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 and 192GB RAM

Modular PC manufacturer Framework has unveiled a prototype of its mini PC, equipped with the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 processor and 192 gigabytes of LPDDR5X-8533 memory. The device was showcased at the AMD Advancing AI 2026 event.

This reveal is significant as it appears to be the first physical appearance of a third-party device utilizing the new AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495 chip. Framework is known for its commitment to modularity, allowing for future upgrades and component replacements.

The updated Framework Laptop mini PC boasts not only a more powerful processor and increased RAM but also features an internal PCIe x4 slot that has been redesigned with an open end. This modification allows for the accommodation of longer PCIe add-in cards (AIC).

However, Framework has cautioned that the rising cost of LPDDR5X memory will result in a significantly higher price point for this new version compared to the current 128GB model. The company has not yet provided a specific release date or final pricing details.
