Fraunhofer Releases 2024 Annual Report
The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft has published its 2024 Annual Report, focusing on the transfer of research findings into practical application and strengthening Germany's economic competitiveness.

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Germany's largest applied research organization, has released its 2024 Annual Report. Titled "Transfer for Our Future," the report emphasizes the importance of translating research findings into practical use and its role in securing Germany's economic competitiveness and future.
According to Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft President Holger Hanselka, research and technology create the necessary conditions for a positive future in an uncertain global economic climate. The report highlights Germany's position as the world's third-largest economy and second-largest exporter of high-tech goods, built upon strong research expertise and close collaboration with industry.
The report showcases two significant examples of achievements in 2024: the digital light project developed in collaboration between ams Osram and Fraunhofer, which received the German Future Prize, and Teuken-7B, Europe's first open-source large language model. Teuken-7B is designed for industrial applications, enabling sensitive data to be processed within an organization.
The Fraunhofer 2024 Annual Report is available as an e-paper and a downloadable PDF. It provides detailed insights into the institutes' research activities, finances, and strategic objectives for the year.
