Fraunhofer to Showcase Aerospace Technologies at ILA Berlin 2026
The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft will present new technologies for the aerospace sector at the ILA Berlin Air Show in June 2026, focusing on sustainability and efficiency.

The Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft is set to exhibit a range of new technologies for the aerospace and space sectors at the ILA Berlin international air show, taking place from June 10-14, 2026. The research organization aims to present solutions addressing safety, competitiveness, and sustainability in aviation.
Participating Fraunhofer institutes will focus on advancements in areas such as sustainable propulsion, new materials, and satellite technology, coordinated by Fraunhofer AVIATION & SPACE. The exhibits will highlight how research can overcome current challenges in the sector.
Fraunhofer IIS will demonstrate a decentralized mesh networking technology designed for controlling drone swarms. This system offers increased flexibility and interference resistance compared to centrally controlled drones, with potential applications in construction site monitoring and offshore wind farm inspections.
Additionally, Fraunhofer IESE is presenting an automated production system developed to improve the accessibility of mRNA-based medications and vaccines. This project seeks to make the production process faster, more flexible, and cost-effective, potentially broadening access to these advanced therapies.
Fraunhofer HHI will showcase its thermal management technologies for space applications, focusing on the cooling of satellite components. By structuring metal surfaces with lasers, the technology enhances heat dissipation in vacuum conditions, which is crucial for the reliability of space equipment.
