Frédéric von Anhalt left with 38,000 Euro Oktoberfest Bill
Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt faced a hefty 38,000 Euro bill at Oktoberfest after his companions disappeared before payment. He stated that he had consumed a significant amount of champagne.

Frédéric Prinz von Anhalt, a German socialite, found himself in an unexpected financial predicament during Oktoberfest in Munich when he was left to settle a substantial bill of 38,000 Euros. According to von Anhalt, his companions vanished from the venue just before the payment was due.
The evening started with von Anhalt celebrating at Käfers Wiesn-Schänke with acquaintances. He told the newspaper Abendzeitung that he was persuaded to drink several bottles of champagne, leading to his intoxication. "One glass then became more and more," he recounted.
Upon waking up at his hotel the following morning, von Anhalt discovered the extent of the bill. With his companions gone, the responsibility for payment fell solely on him. Von Anhalt theorizes that the presence of his American Express Centurion card might have influenced the numerous orders, though he denies consuming such a large quantity himself.
The unusually high expenditure also caught the attention of the credit card company, which contacted von Anhalt to inquire about the card's security. Despite his expressed frustration with his companions, whom he referred to disparagingly, von Anhalt confirmed that he paid the entire bill. He was reportedly traveling in Hungary following the incident.
