Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers Opens 600th Restaurant
Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers has opened its 600th location in Beaufort, South Carolina. This milestone signals the brand's ongoing nationwide development and expansion.

Fast-casual restaurant chain Freddy's Frozen Custard & Steakburgers announced the opening of its 600th location on October 12, 2026, in Beaufort, South Carolina. The opening marks a significant step in the company's continued nationwide development.
The new restaurant features a prototype without a drive-thru, part of Freddy's strategy to adopt more flexible development formats suitable for a wider range of real estate opportunities. This location includes seating for 65 guests and an outdoor patio. It is operated by long-time franchisee Charleston Custard, expanding Freddy's presence in the Southeast.
Chris Dull, President & CEO of Freddy's, stated that reaching 600 locations is a major milestone reflecting the brand's expansion. He noted that the shift towards in-line and endcap restaurant models provides greater flexibility for development and allows Freddy's to enter more communities. The company is focusing on growth in the Northeast, Rust Belt, Midwest, Pacific Northwest, Northern California, and Florida, with plans for international expansion including a recent deal for five units in the Philippines.
Founded in 2002 in Wichita, Kansas, Freddy's has cultivated a following for its made-to-order steakburgers, frozen custard, and customer service. The company continues to seek qualified franchisees domestically and internationally, including in Canada and Mexico.
