Fresenius Invests €54 Million to Expand IV Fluids Production in Europe
Fresenius is increasing its European intravenous fluids manufacturing capacity with a €54 million investment in Poland and Italy. The expansion aims to strengthen supply chains and improve product availability for healthcare systems.

Healthcare company Fresenius has expanded its production capabilities for intravenous fluids in Europe with a combined €54 million investment in Poland and Italy. The company has opened a new production line at its facility in Kutno, Poland, and expanded manufacturing and warehouse infrastructure at its site in Isola della Scala, Italy.
The expansion aims to bolster the supply of essential medicines to European healthcare systems and improve access for hospitals and patients across the region. These projects increase local production capacity, supporting Fresenius' "local-for-local" strategy to enhance supply chain resilience and product availability closer to the markets served.
Fresenius has invested over €1 billion in European manufacturing over the past five years and operates approximately 20 production facilities and several R&D centers in the region. The new investments are part of the Rejuvenate phase of its #FutureFresenius strategy, which focuses on manufacturing expansion, innovation, and operational excellence.
These moves complement a €400 million financing agreement signed in 2025 with the European Investment Bank, intended to support research, development, and manufacturing growth within the European Union. Fresenius continues to invest in securing supply chains and ensuring the availability of critical healthcare products.
