Freshworks acquires AI firm Robusta to enhance IT incident management

Freshworks, the cloud-based software provider, has acquired Israeli startup Robusta Dev for an undisclosed sum. The acquisition aims to bolster the Freshservice IT service management platform by embedding AI capabilities designed to diagnose technology outages and suggest automated remediation steps.

Robusta’s technology uses AI agents to monitor IT infrastructure data and configuration changes, identifying the root cause of service disruptions. By integrating these tools, Freshworks intends to decrease manual investigation time for engineering teams and improve the interoperability of its platform with incident response tools like FireHydrant, which Freshworks acquired last year.

This move follows a recent trend of consolidation for Freshworks, including the acquisition of SaaS management platform Torii earlier this month. These additions are part of a broader shift toward AI-focused product development, which coincides with the company’s recent efforts to restructure its workforce and optimize operational costs following a reported Q1 2026 net loss of $4.8 million.
