Freshworks Appoints Ryan Manning as Chief Product and Technology Officer

SaaS major Freshworks has appointed Ryan Manning, formerly of ServiceNow, as its new Chief Product and Technology Officer (CPTO), effective August 10. Manning will succeed Srini Raghavan, who is exiting the company after approximately one year to pursue an entrepreneurial venture. Murali Swaminathan will continue as CTO and report to Manning.

Manning will be responsible for unifying product and technology strategy across Freshworks' AI, IT, and customer experience products. He will oversee the global product roadmap and the engineering organization supporting Freshworks' platform, reporting directly to CEO Dennis Woodside. Prior to this role, Manning served as Chief Product Officer at BMC Helix.

The appointment occurs amidst a period of significant leadership changes at Freshworks. Earlier this year, CEO Girish Mathrubootham stepped down, having previously transitioned from CEO to chairman. In 2022, co-founder and CTO Krishnasamy also departed. The company has recently revamped its top management and undertaken workforce reductions to align with its AI strategy.

Financially, Freshworks reported a net loss in the first quarter of 2026, though revenue increased 16% year-over-year. The company announced plans in early 2026 to reduce its workforce by approximately 11% to accelerate AI adoption and automate tasks.
