FRITZ! launches IP54-rated outdoor Wi-Fi 6 extender
FRITZ! has introduced the FRITZ!Repeater 1610 Outdoor, an IP54-certified wireless extender designed to provide Wi-Fi 6 connectivity in outdoor environments.
FRITZ! has added the FRITZ!Repeater 1610 Outdoor to its hardware lineup, marking the company’s first entry into outdoor-specific networking equipment. The device features an IP54-rated housing designed to withstand exposure to dust and splashing water, suitable for balconies, patios, or gardens.
The repeater utilizes Wi-Fi 6 technology with dual-band support on 2.4 and 5 GHz, capable of reaching data rates up to 3000 Mbit/s. It is designed to integrate into existing mesh networks, allowing users to extend their home network range without sacrificing performance in high-traffic environments.
Power is supplied via Power over Ethernet (PoE+), a feature that allows for flexible placement where electrical outlets may not be present. The product includes mounting brackets for both indoor and outdoor use. The hardware is currently available at a retail price of 129 euros.
