FRITZ! launches new smart plug for energy monitoring

FRITZ! has released the FRITZ!Smart Energy 201, a smart plug designed for remote device control and precise power consumption tracking.

2 November 2026

FRITZ! GmbH has expanded its home automation line with the launch of the FRITZ!Smart Energy 201 smart plug. The device allows users to switch connected electronics on and off while monitoring energy usage patterns through the company's dedicated mobile application.

The hardware is designed to be compact, fitting into standard power strips without obstruction. It supports loads up to 3,680 watts (16 A) and maintains an idle power consumption of less than 0.2 watts. Connectivity is managed via DECT, integrating with existing home networks established by FRITZ!Box routers.

The system supports automation routines, including scheduled power cycles and geofencing capabilities based on user location. Through a Matter-bridge enabled gateway, the plug is compatible with voice control platforms such as Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa. The retail price is set at 49 euros.
