Frontier Airlines to Offer Starlink Wi-Fi in Early 2027
Frontier Airlines announced it will debut SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet service on its aircraft starting in early 2027. The airline, which currently does not offer in-flight Wi-Fi, is set to upgrade its passenger services.

Frontier Airlines will introduce in-flight Wi-Fi to its passengers through a partnership with SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet service, beginning in early 2027. This move represents a significant service upgrade for the airline, which currently offers no internet connectivity during flights.
The first Frontier Airlines Airbus aircraft equipped with Starlink internet connectivity are expected to roll out in early 2027. A spokesperson for the airline declined to comment on whether the service will be provided free of charge to passengers. Major airlines that have previously partnered with Starlink have often made the Wi-Fi service complimentary for their loyalty program members.
Frontier Airlines had been one of the last major U.S. carriers to adopt in-flight Wi-Fi. Previously, the airline's former CEO had cited concerns about the added weight from equipment as a reason for the delay in offering the service.
Starlink, a division of Elon Musk's SpaceX, has secured agreements with over 40 airlines globally, including United Airlines and American Airlines. The specific terms of the agreements between the airlines and SpaceX have not been disclosed. The airlines involved in this latest Starlink deal—Frontier, Mexico's Volaris, European carrier Wizz, Chile's Jetsmart, and Philippines' Cebu Pacific—share a common investor in the private equity firm Indigo Partners.
