Fujifilm Introduces New XF 400mm f/4.5 Super-Telephoto Lens

Fujifilm has unveiled its new XF 400mm f/4.5 R LM OIS WR super-telephoto lens, expanding the company's offerings for photographers requiring extended reach. The lens is designed for full-frame systems and is positioned for use in demanding sports and wildlife photography.

The XF 400mm f/4.5 R LM OIS WR features a linear motor for rapid and precise autofocus, crucial for capturing fast-moving subjects. It also incorporates optical image stabilization (OIS) to mitigate camera shake, particularly during longer exposures or in low-light conditions. The lens construction is weather-sealed (WR), allowing for shooting in adverse weather.

Fujifilm states the optical design is engineered to produce high-quality images with sharpness and accurate color reproduction across the frame. The lens targets photographers who need significant focal length combined with performance and image fidelity. At its longest focus, it provides a 400mm focal length, equivalent to approximately 609mm on an APS-C sensor using a 35mm equivalent calculation.

Accompanying the lens release, preliminary information and a first-look video are available through retailers. This product is intended for professional and advanced amateur photographers who value Fujifilm's optical engineering and system capabilities.
