Fujitsu and Citrix Expand Collaboration with New Virtual Desktop Service
Fujitsu and Citrix have expanded their collaboration in cloud services by launching a new virtual desktop service, Virtual Client on Cloud (VCC), in the Japanese market.
Tokyo – Fujitsu Limited and Citrix Systems Japan KK have announced an expansion of their collaboration in virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) technology. Under a new Citrix Service Provider (CSP) agreement, Fujitsu is launching Virtual Client on Cloud (VCC), a cloud-based VDI service, in Japan.
VCC utilizes Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop, and ShareFile products. The service aims to help companies create digital workspaces by providing both convenience and security. Fujitsu states that the service reduces the administrative burden of system maintenance, supporting businesses in their digital transformation efforts.
The service includes the management of customer assets within Fujitsu's data centers, ensuring scalability and security. Fujitsu's experts will handle the deployment, documentation, and ongoing monitoring and support for the VDI environment.
VCC offers features such as smooth Skype for Business operation via optimized technology, management of Windows 10 version updates, and the ability to use Linux applications. An optional vGPU feature leveraging NVIDIA's virtualization technology is also available for enhanced graphical performance, particularly for applications like CAD software.
