Fujitsu to Export FUJITSU-MONAKA Processors Abroad Starting 2027
Fujitsu plans to begin exporting its FUJITSU-MONAKA processors outside Japan to Asia and the Americas as early as 2027. The company is currently in negotiations for AI server contracts.
Technology firm Fujitsu intends to start exporting its proprietary FUJITSU-MONAKA processors to markets outside Japan, including Asia and the Americas, from 2027. The company is reportedly in discussions with over 40 entities regarding AI servers based on the FUJITSU-MONAKA processor.
Fujitsu has been collaborating with Supermicro on the development and promotion of the FUJITSU-MONAKA platform since 2024. This suggests that Fujitsu views the processor as a commercial product for external sale, distinct from chips used solely for internal purposes like the "Fugaku" supercomputer.
The company also plans to market the processor to major cloud service providers in the United States. Fujitsu has set a target for cumulative sales of its own processors to reach 250 billion yen (approximately $1.7 billion USD) by fiscal year 2030, aiming to deliver 60,000 AI servers.
Twenty-four companies in the financial and telecommunications sectors have already trialed the processor. The FUJITSU-MONAKA processor is being developed using a 2-nanometer manufacturing process.
