Fujitsu to Pilot AI Agents for Retail Store Operations
Fujitsu will launch a trial environment for AI agents and their platform on October 6, 2026, aimed at enhancing retail operations and decision-making. Seven retail companies will participate in the phased demonstrations.

Fujitsu Limited announced on October 6, 2026, that it will begin offering a trial environment for four AI agents and their execution platform. These agents are designed to improve retail store operations and business decision-making processes.
The company will also commence phased demonstration experiments with seven retail companies. The AI agents are provided through Uvance for Retail, which aims to drive AI transformation in the retail and distribution sectors. They are intended to assist retailers with data analysis and the formulation of strategies to boost sales and profitability, thereby streamlining store operations and accelerating management decisions.
The initial trial environment will feature four AI agents focused on sales structure analysis, customer loyalty analysis, sales planning (MD planning), and store manager support. The official launch of these agents and their platform is scheduled for June 2027, with additional agents to be introduced progressively.
Developed in response to challenges faced by the retail industry, such as the need to better leverage sales and customer data for strategic planning and the demand for rapid decision-making in a dynamic market, Fujitsu's AI solutions aim to help retailers quickly identify issues, implement measures, and evaluate effectiveness. The goal is to enable faster, data-driven strategies and free up personnel from routine data compilation tasks for more strategic activities.
