Funmi Monet's Fragrance Brand Influxious Achieves $1.2 Million in Sales Within 24 Hours
Funmi Monet's fragrance brand Influxious generated over $1.2 million in gross sales within 24 hours of its Sephora launch. The success follows eight years Monet spent building audience trust online.

The fragrance brand Influxious, founded by Funmi Monet, achieved over $1.2 million in gross sales within 24 hours of its launch on Sephora.com on July 27. Monet spent eight years cultivating an audience and building trust on social media platforms, primarily TikTok, before releasing her own products.
Influxious's direct-to-consumer stock of 4,500 units sold out in under a day, with sales through Sephora following shortly after. According to Monet, the launch was so popular that the customer buying experience has been compared to trying to get tickets to a Beyoncé concert.
The success demonstrates how long-term audience engagement and trust-building can translate into significant sales figures. Monet began her career working at a Dillard's fragrance counter, where she realized people often needed guidance in selecting scents.
This experience carried over to her TikTok content, where she amassed over 500,000 followers by reviewing other brands' perfumes. In 2022, she joined the Sephora Squad and in 2024 participated in Sephora's Accelerate incubator, leading to her own product launch.
Monet highlighted that many customers purchased Influxious products based on their trust in her previous recommendations, which had led them to buy dozens of other fragrances.
