Furuno Unveils New SOLION-100 Terminal for Iridium GMDSS
Furuno has launched the new SOLION-100 terminal, integrating GMDSS, SSAS, and LRIT capabilities onto an Iridium Certus 100 platform. The device is designed for both newbuild and retrofit vessels.
Furuno has introduced the SOLION-100 terminal, which consolidates the Global Maritime Distress and Safety System (GMDSS), Ship Security Alert System (SSAS), and Long-Range Identification and Tracking (LRIT) into a single Iridium Certus 100 device.
The new unit offers a solution for both new vessel constructions and the modernization of existing fleets. It aims to streamline equipment installations and enhance vessels' compliance with international safety and communication standards.
The SOLION-100 leverages the Iridium Certus 100 satellite network, providing reliable and global coverage. This ensures uninterrupted communication and data transfer across all maritime regions.
