Fuse Oncology Extends Workflow Software to Full Radiation Therapy Care Team

Fuse Oncology, a company focused on radiation oncology workflows, announced it is extending its FuseRx software to encompass the entire radiation oncology care team, beyond just physicians. The software, initially launched for physicians in July, consolidates consult notes and treatment intent within a single workflow.

The expanded workflow now incorporates "BluePrint," an application developed by the University of Michigan's Department of Radiation Oncology. This tool streamlines treatment planning from intent through plan approval. Physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, and nurses will now utilize the same workflow, significantly reducing duplicated effort and accelerating the treatment process.

The development of FuseRx is built on collaborations with the University of Michigan and Cone Health. Notably, a prototype at Cone Health's Radiation Oncology department has been in use for several years, resulting in the department treating 35% more patients than the US average with fewer full-time equivalents. The time from consult to treatment has been reduced to 3.4 days.

The technology aims to modernize the planning and execution of radiation therapy for the entire care team. Fuse will demonstrate FuseRx across roles at the American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) Annual Meeting in Boston later in September.
