GAC Aion N60 Receives Fourth Over-the-Air Software Update
GAC Aion has released its fourth Over-The-Air (OTA) software update for the N60 electric vehicle. The update introduces Apple CarPlay connectivity and enhancements to the driving experience.
Chinese automaker GAC Aion has announced the release of its fourth Over-The-Air (OTA) software update for its N60 electric vehicle. The most significant addition is the introduction of Apple CarPlay support, allowing users to connect compatible iPhones to the car's infotainment system via wired or wireless connections. This feature enables seamless integration of the phone's interface and apps.
The update also brings several improvements aimed at enhancing the driving experience and passenger comfort. A new 'intelligent anti-motion sickness mode' is designed to mitigate discomfort caused by frequent acceleration/deceleration, stop-and-go traffic, and continuous cornering. Additionally, the driver-assistance system now offers three distinct driving styles: gentle, standard, and agile. The intelligent parking assist function has also been updated with three speed settings.
Further enhancements include an upgraded intelligent turn signal reminder, which can alert the driver when a large vehicle ahead is encroaching on the lane during an overtaking maneuver. A revised intelligent user assistant provides visual guidance for various vehicle functions through voice commands. The adaptive cruise control (ACC) system has also seen an update, with a new switch that modifies how ACC and lane-keeping assist (LCC/NDA) engage and disengage.
In terms of cabin features, the update adds nine new applications to the vehicle's app store, including several music and educational apps. Users can also create, edit, and share custom 'scenarios' via the GAC Aion mobile app. To improve battery longevity, the update also introduces the ability to customize charging limits.
