GAC Group Reports 6.71% Sales Decline in August
GAC Group's vehicle production and sales saw a year-on-year decrease in August 2026. The company reported total sales of 126,584 units, a 6.71% drop compared to the previous year.
GAC Group announced on September 4, 2026, that its vehicle sales declined by 6.71% in August compared to the same period last year. Production also fell by 1.18%, with 126,727 units produced and 126,584 units sold.
For the first eight months of 2026, GAC Group's cumulative production reached 1,026,789 vehicles, a 2.99% decrease year-on-year. Cumulative sales totaled 1,012,603 units, marking a modest increase of 0.21%.
Significant drops were observed in sales figures for joint ventures, with GAC Honda sales down 40.83% and GAC Toyota sales down 17.66% in August. In contrast, GAC Aion, the group's electric vehicle brand, continued its growth trajectory, with August sales up 38.56% and year-to-date sales increasing by 58.37%.
The company's new energy vehicles (NEVs) saw a substantial increase of 47.69% in August sales, reaching 56,481 units. Year-to-date NEV sales have grown by 63.06%.
