GAC Introduces AION UT in Denmark and Norway Alongside Austrian Test Drives
Automaker GAC has launched its AION UT electric vehicle in Denmark and Norway. Simultaneously, a public test drive event for the AION UT and AION V was held in Austria.
GAC is expanding its European presence by introducing its AION UT electric vehicle in Denmark and Norway. A joint launch event took place in Copenhagen on September 17, bringing together media representatives and potential customers for brand and product introductions, followed by a short test drive. Electric Way, the import company of Norway's Sulland Group, will manage GAC's import and distribution in both countries.
Concurrently, a two-day public test drive event was held in Austria from September 18-19. Visitors had the opportunity to experience the AION UT and AION V at Atelier 7121 and NILS am See. The event, open by registration, attracted a broad audience including media, fleet customers, prospective dealers, and consumers.
The AION UT joins GAC's European lineup as a compact electric hatchback. Designed by GAC's Milan-based team, the 4,270 mm long vehicle offers a WLTP range of up to 430 km. European specifications include a heat pump, a 14.6-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and suspension tuned for European driving conditions.
The AION UT has achieved a five-star rating in the 2026 Euro NCAP assessment. It is equipped with advanced driver-assistance systems, such as adaptive cruise control and autonomous emergency braking. These European market entries are part of GAC's broader expansion strategy, which involves integrating design, assembly, logistics, and local sales and service networks to support its European operations.
