GAC Quark Electric Drive Technology Wins Top Geneva Invention Award
GAC Group's Quark Electric Drive Technology has received the Gold Medal with Jury's Congratulations at the 51st International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva for its advanced stator core technology.
GAC Group's Quark Electric Drive Technology has been awarded the Gold Medal with Jury's Congratulations at the 51st International Exhibition of Inventions of Geneva. The award recognizes the project "Key Precision Manufacturing Technologies and Applications for Ultra-thin Amorphous Material Based Low Loss Stator Cores."
The technology addresses electric vehicle range by reducing energy losses in the motor. By utilizing ultra-thin amorphous materials in the stator core, GAC's system directs more energy towards propulsion. The Quark Electric Drive 2.0 system achieves a peak efficiency of 99.03%, with a CLTC cycle efficiency of 94.184%.
This efficiency improvement translates to an extended driving range of 30 to 50 kilometers for electric vehicles with the same battery capacity. This enhancement aims to increase the practicality and reduce range anxiety for EV users in their daily commutes.
The Quark Electric Drive technology has been integrated into GAC's AION N60, AION RT 2027, and AION i60 2027 models for the Chinese market. GAC plans to expand the application of this high-efficiency drivetrain technology across more of its vehicle lineup.
