GAC receives eight awards for automotive innovation

On October 28, GAC secured eight awards at the China-SAE Science and Technology Awards ceremony in Suzhou, Jiangsu. The recognitions focused on the company’s developments in automotive chip integration, electric propulsion, vehicle safety, and intelligent driving management.

In the semiconductor space, GAC highlighted a supply chain initiative involving 105 partners that integrated nearly 400 chip models into its vehicle lineup. This development supports the launch of the HYPTEC GT Special Edition, described as the first Chinese intelligent connected vehicle using entirely domestic chips.

Regarding electric propulsion, GAC has moved into the mass production of amorphous alloy stators and high-speed carbon fiber rotors. The company states its current motor technology achieves a peak efficiency of 99 percent and can extend vehicle range by 30 to 50 km. These components are currently utilized across the HYPTEC, AION, and AISTALAND model lines.

Furthermore, GAC and Tsinghua University received honors for developing a fully domestic ASIL-D certified safety controller. The company also implemented AI-driven design systems for body-in-white development, reportedly reducing conceptual design times to under five hours while improving structural rigidity predictions.
