GAC Reports Doubled Global Exports in First Half of 2026

GAC, the automotive manufacturer, announced robust global sales growth for the first six months of 2026. The company's international wholesale and end-user retail volumes more than doubled compared to the same period last year. Total exports amounted to 121,483 units, a 132% year-on-year increase, nearly matching the entire export volume from the previous year.

In the Americas, Mexico experienced strong performance from January to May, with the AION ES and AION UT models ranking among the top ten new energy BEV sales. The AION UT secured third place in the B-segment pure electric market, while the AION ES took second in the C-segment BEV category. Bolivia saw sustained success, with the GAC brand maintaining its position as the top-selling Chinese passenger vehicle brand for consecutive months. Brazil's June sales surged by 1,129% month-on-month and 24% year-on-year.

Across Asia-Pacific markets, GAC achieved the number one sales position for private electric passenger cars in Hong Kong SAR in April, holding over an 11% market share from January to May. Singapore's June sales increased by 77% month-on-month and 30% year-on-year. In Thailand, June sales jumped 207% month-on-month and 15% year-on-year, solidifying GAC's leading position in the electric taxi segment.

The Middle East and Africa regions also showed significant expansion. Côte d'Ivoire's June sales rose 233% month-on-month and 33% year-on-year. Ethiopia recorded a 510% month-on-month and 118% year-on-year increase in June volumes. GAC also achieved triple-digit growth in markets including Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
