Chinese automaker GAC reported a significant increase in global sales for the first half of 2026. Both wholesale and retail sales volumes worldwide more than doubled compared to the previous year, with total international exports reaching 121,483 units, marking a 132% year-over-year increase.

The company saw strong performance across various regions. In the Americas, Mexico's AION ES and AION UT models were among the top ten best-selling battery electric vehicles (BEVs). GAC maintained its position as the best-selling Chinese passenger car brand in Bolivia, while Brazil experienced a 1,129% month-over-month sales jump in June. Other markets like Colombia, Uruguay, and Paraguay also reported substantial monthly and annual growth.

In the Asia-Pacific region, GAC led the electric passenger car market in Hong Kong in April, capturing over an 11% market share by May. Singapore saw a 77% increase in June sales, and GAC solidified its dominance in Thailand's electric taxi segment. Significant year-over-year growth was also reported in Malaysia and Indonesia.

Middle Eastern and African markets also contributed to the sales surge. Ivory Coast's sales increased by 233% month-over-month in June, and Ethiopia reported a 510% rise. Iraq, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates all experienced triple-digit sales growth.
